Paintings in Hospitals Summer Exhibition, Art in Large Doses - 27 July to 12 August

Exhibition at the Menier Gallery showcasing works from Paintings in Hospitals’ London Collection.

The exhibition aims to show how this 52 year-old charity continues to challenge ideas about what kind of artwork is suitable for healthcare sites with its collection of bold and contemporary works by well-known artists.

Spread across two floors at the Menier Gallery, Art in Large Doses will feature work across all types of media and include a large number of new acquisitions. The ground floor gallery will show works from the charity’s ‘Main Loan Collection’, including an outsize canvas by Frank Kiely and a sculpture by Patrick Hughes. The basement gallery will be dedicated to the Children and Young People’s Collection and include works by Ian Davenport and Posy Simmonds as well as a range of animated short films selected in conjunction with the Tate Youth Forum.
