Vocal Beats Online - ongoing

Vocal Beats Online is a channel for young people to learn new skills, have fun and develop better breathing techniques through singing and beatboxing. The YouTube channel has been co-designed by a group of young people with cystic fibrosis and rb&hArts, the arts team at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.

The group of young people, the Vocal Beats Youth Ambassadors, have designed the channel to help tackle loneliness in young people as part of the Co-op Foundation’s Building Connections Fund, a partnership with the Government to help reduce youth loneliness.

The channel includes tutorial videos of singing and beatboxing that young people can take part in, as well as videos of the Youth Ambassadors’ personal stories and experiences. The tutorial videos are by the musicians who work on the ward-based part of the project; acclaimed singer songwriter Heather McClelland and champion beatboxers Bellatrix and MC Zan.
