Venue Manager, The Old Church - deadline 6 May 2019

The Old Church is a vibrant live arts venue with a commitment to community engagement, set in a beautiful and historic Grade II* listed building. As a shared space for people of all faiths and none, its mission is to invite the community to share the arts in a thriving hub of creativity at the heart of Stoke Newington.

They are seeking a Venue Manager, with previous experience of arts venue / heritage space management, to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the venue, arranging venue hire for events and supporting a team of volunteer event stewards when required. The role combines hands-on management with the ability to capitalise on opportunities for partnerships and collaboration. As a senior employee supported by a part-time Administrator, the Venue Manager is responsible to the Community Arts Programme Manager and to the Management Board.

This is a part-time role, 18 hours per week including some evenings and weekends. There can be some flexibility, in discussion with the Chair of the Board, over when those hours are worked, although the Venue Manager will be expected to spend a significant amount of time each week in Stoke Newington, and to commit to weekly meetings with other staff. The role will particularly suit someone who lives locally in the area, looking to work to a flexible schedule.

The salary will be £14,250 pa which shall accrue from day to day and be payable monthly in arrears at the end of each month.

Deadline for applications is Monday 6th May. For a full job description and information on how to apply, please email richard@theoldchurch.org.uk
