Because We’re Worth It, London - 22 March

A national summit exploring and celebrating the value of participatory arts.

This national Summit is being hosted as a collaboration between mailout.co – the UK’s national online resource for participatory arts and connectedculture, the London based network celebrating adult participatory arts.

Contributors confirmed so far are Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of The Royal Society of the Arts, Toby Lowe from Helix Arts, The Consortium of Participatory Arts Learning, The Baring Foundation, Staffordshire University and ArtWorks.

National Conference for Singing and Health and VOICES Festival, Liverpool – 16 March

Through a number of presentations from top vocal experts, this one day event will provide an opportunity to share best practice and discover the latest breakthroughs.

Arts Care 21st Anniversary International Arts in Health Conference, Belfast - 16-18 May

Arts Care is hosting an international arts in health conference to celebrate 21 years of sustaining a programme of creativity in healthcare in Northern Ireland. The conference will bring together some of the world's leading experts in the field of arts in health, with presentations, workshops, exhibitions and performances. The event will focus on how sustaining the arts in healthcare improves individual and community wellbeing.

Creating a New Old: conference on arts, culture and creative ageing, Dublin – 8-10 May

The conference will bring together specialists in health, culture, arts, science, education, gerontology, social policy and tourism. It will showcase international best practice, innovation and opportunities relating to ageing from the arts and culture sectors.

The core themes of the conference are:
  * The potential for creative activity to maximise the ability of all individuals to maintain dignity and independent living throughout older age
  * How to harness the creative powers of older people to make a positive contribution to society

Embrace, Create, Connect, Leicester – 15-16 March

Embrace Arts, Leicester is planning Embrace Create Connect, a national conference for performers, participants, producers and promoters to bring together venues, companies and individual artists that have or work with learning disability.

Embrace Create Connect will
- Explore the strength and diversity of learning disability arts work
- Create a showcase of work made by and with learning disabled artists
- Connect performers, participants, producers and promoters through debate, shared learning and inspiration

A conference produced by Escape Artists and hosted by Pat Kane, author of ‘The Play Ethic’, who is joined by a high profile line-up of speakers including Andrew Simms, head of the New Economics Foundation; London-based artist Lottie Child; BBC technology guru Bill Thompson; and Guardian columnist and author of ‘Willing Slaves’, Madeleine Bunting.

State of the arts: artists shaping the world, Salford – 14 February 2012

State of the arts, the national conference for the arts and culture sector: Held in Salford, the event will be hosted by Arts Council England in conjunction with the BBC, The Lowry, Salford City Council and Manchester City Council.

This event is aimed at senior level management from arts and cultural organisations, artists and senior figures involved in the arts from agencies, local authorities, higher education and the media.

Southwark Arts Conference, Southwark Arts Forum – 17 November
