Starbucks Youth Action Programme - deadline 5 March

Young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who wish to make a positive difference within their community can apply for grants of up to £2,000 through the Starbucks Youth Action Programme.

The programme is open to young people for projects in Greater London, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester. Previous projects supported include introducing bee-hives to an inner-city park in Manchester, tackling cyber-bullying in Cardiff and supporting cheer-leaders in Kensington.

Colwinston Charitable Trust - deadline 30 September

The Colwinston Charitable Trust was established in 1995 and distributes grants to organisations working predominantly in the areas of opera, classical music and the visual arts. Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available for registered charities to achieve higher standards of performance and presentation and for projects that assist the appreciation of the art form and attract a wider audience.

The Trust is especially keen to support projects based in Wales, but does have a UK-wide remit.

Ford Britain Trust – deadline 1 June

The Ford Britain Trust provides grants for the advancement of education and other charitable purposes beneficial to those areas where the Ford Motor Company Limited has its present activities and a long standing association with local communities. These local communities are Essex, South Wales, Southampton and Daventry.

Grant applications supporting the following activities will be considered:

• work that has clear benefits to the local community / environment

• work with young people / children

• education / schools (mainstream)
