Secretary of State for Health focuses on creativity and culture

In a speech at the King’s Fund on 6 November, Matt Hancock focused heavily on the role of creativity and culture in social prescribing and across the health spectrum.

Acknowledging the work of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Arts, Health and Wellbeing, he said:

"We should value the arts and social activities because they’re essential to our health and wellbeing. And that’s not me as a former Culture Secretary saying it. It’s scientifically proven. Access to the arts and social activities improves people’s mental and physical health. It makes us happier and healthier."
