Royal Museums Greenwich seek a creative facilitator for Memory Making project – deadline 6 January 2020

A new project at Royal Museums Greenwich will use learning from a pilot at the National Maritime Museum with the Caribbean Social Forum, to work with people from South Asian and African backgrounds to develop a monthly session and resources to support people living with dementia and their families/carers. The project will draw on the knowledge and lived experience of these communities to support people with dementia as well as related material in the Museum’s collection.

Royal Museums Greenwich is looking for an experienced creative learning facilitator to adapt and deliver development sessions with partner groups to gather their ideas for what they feel is important to include in the conversation starter folders, handling collection and peer advice. Although living in the local area many of the participants may not have visited the Museum before and some of the participants may be living with dementia, therefore the facilitator should be experienced in working with this audience in a sensitive and flexible way. The facilitator will be experienced in facilitating discussions with people and around subjects that can illicit strong emotions.
