Rogues Shanty Chorus Live – each Tuesday 7.30-9pm

The Voice cLoud is an organisation based in Suffolk which explores the role of music and the creative arts for health and wellbeing and to engage people in culture and heritage. They run an inter-generational arts and music project which works with teenagers and older people to promote and celebrate the associated heritage and history of the traditional fishing industry of North East Suffolk.

One element of this project is an authentic fishing choir, the Rogues Shanty Chorus, who meet to sing sea shanties and the folk music created and enjoyed by these fishing communities.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, they have had to suspend this project but have started weekly livestreams from their Facebook page broadcasting performances and tuition of sea shanties and folk music, educational information about the fishing industry of East Suffolk and its associated heritage as well as having special maritime themed guests join via Zoom conferencing.
