Voices Through Corridors

Voices Through Corridors is a Heritage Lottery Funded project that explores the heritage of Walsall Manor Hospital from 1930 to the present day.

Through the collection of Oral Histories the project has unearthed stories from the people who have formed part of the hospitals diverse and democratic micro-community over the years. A core set of volunteers have formed part of the editorial group, trained by the Oral History Society and supported by an experienced Coordinator they captured interviews with staff, patients and other people who have connections with the hospital.

The interviews are now available for the public listen to at Walsall Local History Centre and on the project website. In addition four short snippets have been ‘visually transcribed’ into artwork that now sit within the fabric of the building.
