Marmot Indicators for Local Authorities in England, 2012

Fair Society, Healthy Lives: The Marmot Review report was published in February 2010. The report included some suggested indicators to support monitoring of the overall strategic direction in reducing health inequalities.

London Health Observatory’s Closing Time? report outlines the cost of alcohol attributable admissions to the NHS in London.

Release of Wellbeing Figures

As part of the Government’s examination of national wellbeing, The Office of National Statistics has released figures tying together the social and economic data from a wide range of government departments and other organisations regarding leisure and work activities – including arts consumption.

New Writings: Public Art in the contexts of health and regeneration

ixia has commissioned and published the following new essays which look at public art in the contexts of health and regeneration:

  FcNK by Clive Parkinson explores the relationship between art in the public realm and well-being. He investigates public art's sometimes superficiality and its occasional potential to question societal norms.

Resources from the Play's the Thing conference

The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), Montréal, has announced the launch of a book related to its current exhibition, Imperfect Health: The Medicalization of Architecture, as well as an online TV channel.

Bristol Royal Hospital for Children Arts Commissioning Programme

A 70 page catalogue was published which celebrated the outcomes of the Arts Commissioning Programme at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (1997-2001) and includes further information and commentary on the project with full colour illustrations of many of the hospital interiors and artworks.
