Arts and Health: Opportunity for artists/writers to exhibit on ‘Museum on the Move’ – deadline 19 January

Worcestershire and Warwickshire Museum on the Move mobile museum bus scheme is presently developing themes and ideas for ‘Just Art‘ the next touring exhibition.

The designer is interested in representing Arts and Health within the new exhibition and the learning and community engagement team at Warwickshire CC is keen to include art work which fits under this theme including outsider art. The Museum travels to communities and schools across the two counties

Evaluator, Mencap, West Midlands – deadline 27 January

Evaluator wanted for learning disability dance project.

Mencap, Birmingham Royal Ballet/Freefall, mac birmingham, Fox Hollies School and Performing Arts College and Midlands Mencap are working together on a grassroots-level learning disability dance project in Birmingham and the surrounding region. It is intended to extend the opportunities for people with a learning disability (pwld) to dance, be creative, communicate, challenge perceptions, and improve their health and sense of well being.

Arts Commissions, South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – deadline 13 January 2012

South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to commission four large scale site specific permanent artworks for a new build centre.

Expressions of interest are invited from artists for commissions worth between £8k and £6K each. Experience of public art projects is required; experience of working in healthcare settings or at least three years of graduate experience is desirable.

Marie Curie Cancer Care West Midlands Hospice: Call for Submissions – deadline 2 December

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides specialist support and care for cancer patients and their families, aiming to give patients the best possible quality of life, meeting all of their medical, spiritual and social needs, whilst providing their families with the emotional support they may need.

The West Midlands Hospice will be a purpose built hospice, situated close to Solihull Town Centre and caring for people in the surrounding areas.

Illustrator / Designer for Voices Through Corridors HLF project, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust – deadline 8 November

Voices Through Corridors is a Heritage Lottery Funded project which aims to explore the heritage of the Manor Hospital in Walsall from 1930 to the present day.

A collection of Oral Histories will be recorded including genuine life stories and memories that capture the rich historical background of the hospital. The memories will then be displayed in visual transcripts along the hospital corridors as well as being recorded on audio CD format and archived in the Walsall Local History Centre for public access.
