Gwent Arts in Health, working in partnership with the Organ & Tissue Donation Committee of the Aneurin Bevan Health Board (ODC ABHB) wish to commission a cross-site memorial artwork to Organ and Tissue Donors.

‘Joining In – Making Music for Everyone’ – 15&16 September

Booking has now opened for Making Music’s conference, which will be held in the new building of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and focus on participation, providing delegates with a range of opportunities to get involved with and learn about various forms of music making.

MA Arts Practice (Fine Art), (Arts, Health and Wellbeing), University of Glamorgan

The University of Glamorgan is offering the opportunity to study part-time or full-time for an MA Arts Practice (Arts, Health and Wellbeing). This course, which is recruiting now for September 2012, will build on and expand the work achieved over the last four years through the MA Arts and Health.

The course is aimed at recent graduates and established artists who wish to explore the role of the arts in realising health and wellbeing, the value of the arts in community engagement and its effect on the environment.

Streetwise Opera Artist Training Days, Streetwise Opera/WNO Max, Cardiff – 11&12 July

Streetwise Opera and WNO Max have formed a new partnership to bring Streetwise Opera to Cardiff. The collaboration will start with this free two-day training course, which aims to share expertise in using music to support vulnerable adults. The course is aimed at singers, animateurs, musicians and directors with some vocal experience who wish to gain skills in working with homeless and other vulnerable people using opera.

The two day training will explore:

Why opera is a powerful art-form for homeless people and vulnerable adults and how to approach it

Gwanwyn Festival of the Arts for Older People , Wales – deadline 2 March

Gwanwyn is a month-long national festival held across Wales in May each year celebrating creativity in older age. The aim of the festival is to promote the benefits of exploring creativity; offer opportunities for greater participation by older people in the arts during May; highlight existing artistic work and creativity of groups and individuals of older people, and promote the participation of older people in the arts throughout the year.

Colwinston Charitable Trust - deadline 30 September

The Colwinston Charitable Trust was established in 1995 and distributes grants to organisations working predominantly in the areas of opera, classical music and the visual arts. Grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 are available for registered charities to achieve higher standards of performance and presentation and for projects that assist the appreciation of the art form and attract a wider audience.

The Trust is especially keen to support projects based in Wales, but does have a UK-wide remit.

Ford Britain Trust – deadline 1 June

The Ford Britain Trust provides grants for the advancement of education and other charitable purposes beneficial to those areas where the Ford Motor Company Limited has its present activities and a long standing association with local communities. These local communities are Essex, South Wales, Southampton and Daventry.

Grant applications supporting the following activities will be considered:

• work that has clear benefits to the local community / environment

• work with young people / children

• education / schools (mainstream)
