Arts for Health Cornwall closes

Leading arts in health organisation Arts for Health Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has closed due to the “increasingly challenging economic climate”. The organisation will continue to trade over the next few months as it winds down its operations.

Creative Writing for Wellbeing Course – 29 November 2015

A two day course in creative writing and learning about its applications with groups for enhanced wellbeing.

Orchard Foundation in Bristol is running a non-residential weekend course for participants to experience enjoyable confidence-building writing approaches, explore themes important to you and learn techniques for working with others and/or trying yourself. Arts leader sought for Creative Arts for Dementia Group, Poole – deadline 31 December

Poole Housing Partnership is inviting expressions of interest from art tutors/artists/art therapists to lead a Creative Arts for Dementia Group on a contract basis.

The weekly group will be for people with early or mid stage dementia that, subject to funding, should be running from the autumn following a successful pilot earlier this year. You will be required to register with the Borough of Poole as a provider of services prior to starting to provide the service.

An expression of interest form must be submitted by 31st December 2015.

MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes – interview dates 27 August (London), 8 September (Bristol)

Validated by Middlesex University (London), the MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes offers face-to face development in personal, practical and professional practice of creative writing for therapeutic purposes taught over 10 weekends per year. Students can complete a Postgraduate Certificate (Year 1), a Postgraduate Diploma (Year Two) and independent study with a Research Advisor to complete a dissertation (Year 3) and receive the MSc award. The course is offered in Clifton, Bristol and Ealing, London.

Music as a Healing Art – 25 July 2015

A four day course in Gloucestershire will explore the relationship between music and health and wellbeing.

The course from 25 – 29 July at the Tonalis Music Centre, Stroud, Gloucestershire will look at rhythm, harmony and a holistic approach to care and wellbeing.
