International impacts of performing arts

The International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts has published an evidence review of the impacts of performing arts on society.

The review assesses the range of different research methodologies in assessing the impact of this work.

Symposium on Singing and Song – 1 October 2015

The Memorial University of Newfoundland St. John’s in Canada has issued a call for papers and presentations for a Symposium on Singing and Song.

The conference will bring together scholars, performers and pedagogues, representing diverse disciplines, to share international perspectives, research and practices associated with singing and song. Proposal submissions are invited that address multi-faceted contexts of singing and song such as artistic, physiological, cultural, sociological, historical, pedagogical, compositional, psychological, medical…and beyond!

Country Arts in Australia has produced a set of guidelines to help arts and mental health workers looking to delivery creative activities.

Online Masters in Arts in Medicine

The University of Florida has launched an online master’s degree program in arts in medicine.

The two-year program from the UF Center for Arts in Medicine includes foundation of the arts in medicine and various electives. Students are also required to devote 16 hours a week to each eight-week, three-credit hour course.

The deadline for Spring admission is Nov. 3, and the Summer admission deadline will be March 2.

Australian conference – 11 November 2014

Arts and Health Australia is collaborating with the National Gallery of Victoria and VicHealth to present the sixth annual international arts and health conference in Melbourne this November.

Registration for the conference is still open with conference sessions will be held at the National Gallery of Victoria's two locations over three days this November.

American Alliance conference – 29 April 2015

The US Arts and Health Alliance has issued a call for papers for its next annual conference which will take place in Florida next April.

The annual conference provides a forum for practitioners in arts and health, including arts directors, healthcare providers, artists, therapists, architects, designers, administrators, educators, and researchers–bringing people together to present and discuss cutting-edge arts and health topics and exciting developments from around the world.
