Emergence are specifically seeking individuals who would identify themselves as a service user with a lived experience of personality disorder and those who have a professional or caring experience of personality disorder. Applications are actively encouraged from those from a service user perspective who, in addition to becoming a Non-Executive Director, would be interested in taking on the role of Chair of Emergence.

The organisation runs a variety of projects using mainly the arts of theatre and music to help develop personal, social and communication skills and wherever possible find meaningful paid opportunities for work within the arts.

The Other Side Gallery contributes to the growing movement of Contemporary Outsider Art. Many of the Gallery's artists have led extraordinary lives and the work you will find here is infused with their remarkable stories. We celebrate the sheer power and uniqueness of artists' work and the way it challenges negative public misperceptions and stereotypes. Our aim is simple: to facilitate social change by creating opportunities for access and inclusion in the arts. The Gallery is managed by representatives of its core artists: people who have experienced disadvantage in one way or other.
