Foundation for Community Dance Summer School - 23 - 26 July 2013

This three and a half day residential course at De Montfort University in Leicester, will be experiential, practical and discursive and offer an opportunity to share and explore issues relating to working in the field of healthcare. Noise and whispers – call for artists – deadline for proposals 26 July 2013

Central London gallery GV Art has put out a call for artists for an exhibition this autumn (8 November – 14 December 2013) to explore, study and celebrate the intersection of art, science and sound in its many and varied forms and will focus on the relationship between these seemingly disparate but inevitably intertwined disciplines.

Artist commission opportunity at Addenbrooke’s – deadline 4 September 2013

Addenbrooke’s Arts, the arts programme for Cambridge University Hospitals, is offering a commission for an artist to design, fabricate and install an artwork to acknowledge the gift made over the years by organ donors. An area in the main hospital corridor has been identified for the display of this artwork and the artwork should be designed so as to maximise the potential of this space.

Arts Council new funding streams

Arts Council England has announced two new funding streams alongside a re-vamped Grants for the Arts programme. The new schemes are designed to maximise the Arts Council’s delivery of its action plan. Changes to Grants for the Arts include some simplification of the application form and the raising of the threshold for small applications from £10,000 to £15,000.

Workforce Development in Community-based Arts in Health - 10 September, 2013

The Royal Society for Public Health is hosting a series of workshops offering training in arts and health practice. The first of these, focusing on workforce development in community based arts in health, will be facilitated by Mike White and Mary Robson from the Centre for Medical Humanities, Durham University.

BBC Performing Arts Fund - Deadline: 16 September 2013

The BBC has announced that its Performing Arts Fund is now open for applications. Through this fund, community arts groups can apply for grants to carry out training, attract new audiences, encourage new members and raise their profile in their community. Groups may apply for grants of up to £5,000.

Training and Apprenticeships in Reminiscence Arts in Dementia Care

The European Reminiscence Network, in partnership with the University of Greenwich, Camden Carers, Oxleas NHS Trust and the Woolwich Memorial Hospital is offering a training course and apprenticeship scheme to people with an interest in the role reminiscence can play in dementia care settings.

Wellbeing Hi-5 - Leicestershire

Arts, cultural and heritage organisations in the East Midlands are invited to submit events for the Wellbeing Hi-5, a month of events taking place this October. All events are eligible as long as they promote one or more of the Five Ways to Wellbeing (Giving, Taking Notice, Connecting, Being Active, Learning).
