Footballers on offer

Women’s Design
Women’s Design Service has invited women to submit entries for an art competition on the theme of safety in the built environment. Entries will be exhibited on their website and will inform debate about safety and design. Prizes will be awarded for the best submissions. The closing date for entries is Friday 12 September.

Midlands Artist Required
Telford & Wrekin Council has issued a brief for an artist to undertake a pilot project to examine the health needs and issues within the Asian community in the area. Artists require experience working on relevant arts and health projects and language skills in Urdu and Punjabi.

INSPIRE is a Cambridge-based arts and health organisation which runs projects with people of all ages, who have health issues or disabilities. The organisation is currently recruiting for a number of posts including a Creative Learning in Partnership Project Coordinator, Project Support Workers and a Transport Scheme Co-ordinator. The organisation is also looking to recruit some artists to run workshops in a range of artforms with disabled adults, people with learning difficulties and people with health issues in rural areas.

Music Fundraiser
Music in Hospitals is seeking a Grant Fundraiser to work from its Walton-on-Thames base. Candidates should have at least three years experience and a proven track record in trust, statutory and corporate fundraising. The role will be to research and identify new funding opportunities as well as maintaining and nurturing established relationships with funders for this busy charity which works to improve the quality of life of adults and children with all kinds of illness and disability through the joy and therapeutic benefits of live music.

Sculpture Commissions
A new sculpture walk is being planned for the historic Warneford Hospital site in Headington, Oxford, and five commissions of £2500 each are available for site-specific works in any suitable medium. Expressions of interest are invited from artists with experience of working in the public sphere and an interest in participatory approaches. A good understanding of mental health will be favoured but the project also aims to provide capacity building opportunities for artists with ambitions to expand their practice in this sector. The deadline for initial submissions is April 14th.

Evaluation Required
Theatre company, Lightning Ensemble, is bringing an innovative performance project, entitled The Chess Players to St George's Hospital in South London, for two weeks in April and is seeking someone to carry out an evaluation of the project.
Developing a pilot project from last November, the performance engages patients with a combination of performance and chess playing, and develops a pilot project, produced in November at St George's last year.
This is a modestly budgeted project with a £350 fee for an evaluation; so expectations are for a relatively succinct report. For more information, e: sarah.weatherall@virgin.net

Be Creative Be Well
Arts Council England, London is leading the arts and culture strand of Well London, a new and ambitious pan-London programme that will invest in community led projects over three years to promote health and mental well being, improve levels of healthy eating and increase accessible opportunities for physical activities. As part of this ACE is looking for two posts to work on this project, a Project Manager and a Project Co-ordinator.
Well London partners will work with communities to design and implement creative projects that can meet their needs and aspirations, developing relationships between them and arts organisations and artists which will then deliver projects.
