Creativity and Wellbeing Week

Creativity and Wellbeing- thank you

Thank you to everyone who took part in Creativity and Wellbeing Week! An estimated 20,000 people attended events and took part in a huge range of activity celebrating the impact of the arts on wellbeing. In just three years, the Week has grown to be a focal point for arts and health and this is in huge part down to the individuals and organisations across London who ran events – so thanks to everyone who was involved. We are already making plans for next year and will shortly be announcing dates and details.

Creativity and Wellbeing publicity

Thousands of brochures and postcards are currently being distributed to promote events in Creativity and Wellbeing Week and Creativity and Wellbeing Plus. All event organisers should now be receiving promotional material and we are managing a range of other distribution and press promotion. If you would like any advice on promoting your events or if you have suggestions for other event organisers or for us to promote Creativity and Wellbeing as a whole, do please get in touch. You can email Damian Hebron or submit something to the blog.

Creativity and Wellbeing Plus

This year’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week will take place from 2nd-11th June in London but events are happening around the country and through the summer as part of Creativity and Wellbeing Plus. These events include seminars and discussions, lectures and tours. It is not too late to include events in Creativity and Wellbeing Plus – simply visit the website to upload your events.

Creativity and Wellbeing Week closing event

LAHF is delighted to announce that the closing event for this year’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week will bring together celebrated novelist and journalist Lionel Shriver and ethicist Deborah Bowman to explore the connections between creativity and wellbeing in a fascinating evening drawing together the worlds of health and the arts with conversation and readings. Designed in partnership with Community Learning at Tate Modern, LAHF is proud to present this exciting discussion event to conclude London Creativity and Wellbeing Week.

Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2 June 2014 – 10 June 2014

Thanks to everyone who has entered events for Creativity and Wellbeing Week. We are currently processing all the events and will shortly produce a brochure to promote the week. It certainly looks like this will be the biggest week ever with well over 150 London events alone. With events up and down the country as part of Creativity and Wellbeing Plus and entries accepted online for inclusion until the end of May, there is still time to be involved. Special announcements about future Creativity and Wellbeing Week events will follow in future newsletters.

Creativity and Wellbeing Week – deadline extension

Due to extensive demand, the deadline for inclusion in the Creativity and Wellbeing Week brochure has been extended to 7th April 2014. Arts and health events can be entered for inclusion in the Week via the website w: www.creativityandwellbeing.org.uk. The brochure will be distributed to thousands of venues and locations around the country bringing national attention to the wide range of activity in this area.

Creativity and Wellbeing Plus

Creativity and Wellbeing Plus is a new initiative jointly developed by London Arts in Health Forum and the National Alliance for Arts Health and Wellbeing. It aims to build on the success of London Creativity and Wellbeing Week by offering events to showcase the breadth and excellence of arts in health activity from right across England.

Deadline for Creativity and Wellbeing Week – 31 March 2014

The deadline for Creativity and Wellbeing Week is fast approaching. In order to properly promote events in the week, we are planning to produce a brochure listing events. In order to make sure your event is included in the brochure, you need to have uploaded all the details of your event by 31st March onto the dedicated website www.creativityandwellbeing.org.uk. Events uploaded after this date will still feature in the Week but we cannot guarantee to get them into the brochure.

Creativity and Wellbeing Week painting

As plans develop for Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2014 (events are now being submitted), an opportunity has arisen to grab a piece of Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2013. Created at the closing event for last year’s week, Rachel Gadsden’s extraordinary visual capture of the closing night event is available for purchase and is currently on display as part of GV Art’s current exhibition Explorations in Art and Science. Rachel was the Winner of the National Diversity Awards 2013 - Positive Role Model Award for Disability and is an internationally renowned artist.

Deadline announced for Creativity and Wellbeing Week

Event submissions are now being accepted for next summer’s Creativity and Wellbeing Week. The Week will take place from 2nd to the 8th June 2014 and all events for inclusion in the week will need to be submitted by 31st March 2014. We hope that we will be able to represent the widest possible range of events in the Week and would encourage everyone to plan and submit their events now. You can partially submit an event at any stage and then add to it once details are confirmed. It is advisable to do this to try to avoid key events clashing.
