South East London-based charity Entelechy Arts produces projects which powerfully test the boundaries between art, creativity, care, wellbeing and community. The programmes are created by and for the communities they work with, namely isolated older people, those living with profound and multiple disabilities, and those living in care home environments, enabling them to play an active and visible role in the creative life of their community.

London Arts and Health and the Mayor of London have launched a myth busting guide to help support the hundreds of grassroots organisations in London to become involved in the London recovery plan. The guide aims to challenge many of the myths surrounding social prescribing, tackling areas such as funding, the role of link workers and the importance of strong evidence-based research and evaluation.

Artist opportunity with Equal Arts – deadline 12 April 2021

Equal Arts are looking for artists with experience and knowledge of gardening in community settings to join their HenPower Project, delivering sessions in the care settings they support.

Initially delivering sessions online, then returning to the gardens of care homes, the organisation is planning projects in the North East, North West and London for freelance artists.

New arts and health platform seeks partners

Arts enterprise Aesop is seeking organisations currently working in arts-and-health to help develop and participate in an online platform aimed primarily at people over 60.  The platform will be launched in summer 2021 and will help users find high-quality arts programmes that provide health benefits.

It is hoped the platform will be as comprehensive as possible. To be included, programmes will need independent quantitative evidence of their health outcomes.

Participation Associate opportunity – deadline 15 March 2021

Clean Break is looking for an early career artist to join their team as a Participation Associate as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries 2020-2022. The role will be focused on designing and facilitating theatre-based workshops and developing ideas for and implementing digital engagement with women.

City Arts seek artists to deliver online workshops – deadline 7 March 2021

City Arts is offering a series of artists’ commissions to run innovative and uplifting online workshops, with the aim of combating loneliness among people aged 55+ in the communities of Nottingham. The brief also includes contributing a written activity to an art pack and creating a short, instructional, ‘How-To’ video for the web. There are a series of commissions available for £1,000 each.

Apply to become the CHWA Awards artist – deadline 5 March 2021

The Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance, in partnership with the Derby City Council Art Department, are seeking an artist based in Derby to create the physical awards for the winners of the CHWA 2021 Awards.

The successful artist will create three new artworks that reflect the themes of the awards (collective power, practising well and climate) and celebrate the talents of those working in the culture/health/wellbeing sector in the UK.

Magic Me seeks trio of artists – deadline 8 February 2021

Arts charity Magic Me is seeking to recruit artists to join its Inside Out 2021 project. The artists will work with care professionals in three care homes in Waltham Forest, East London to explore and experiment with new creative approaches to improve the daily life and culture of each home and navigate the challenges of Covid-19.

The charity is keen to hear from a diverse range of candidates with different perspectives, experience and knowledge and will work with you to support your access needs.
