An artist/designer is being sought to create a charity-funded programme of work for the cardiac care unit at Harefield hospital, to bring warmth and colour to a newly built area.

A new network has been established for people working in the creative arts that are living with or affected by HIV, and who wish to use the arts to express how HIV/ AIDS affects them. Aiming to deliver creative workshops facilitated by people living with HIV, the network will host a World AIDS Day exhibition to give recognition to established artists living or affected by HIV. It will also host networking events and circulate a newsletter as well as offering a range of training opportunities.

a-n The Artists Information Company has published a research paper which forms part of a series that looks specifically at the nature and value of openly-advertised work and opportunities for visual and applied artists.

Studio Upstairs is an arts and heath charity based in Bristol and London.

On Friday 20th July 2012 the charity is holding an evening of celebration and a silent auction at the Royal Academy of Arts, to raise awareness that one in four adults in the UK will suffer mental health problems at some time in their life. All proceeds raised will go towards supporting the work of the charity.

Studio Upstairs is also seeking artworks to be donated to the auction to join pieces by Bristol based artist Anthony Garratt, Rob Ryan and Dan Badwin.

Following the success of a two year fundraising campaign, two large drawings by illustrators Posy Simmonds and Michael Foreman have recently been loaned to a hospital in Surrey by the charity Paintings in Hospitals.

For the past year, artist Isobel Manning has been exploring the ritual of hand washing in the hospital environment.

Arts Council England has published the final evaluation report of the pilot stage of the Turning Point project.                   

The Turning Point Network is a national network comprising 13 regional groups of artists, arts professionals and organisations. It was formed to deliver Turning Point, the 10-year strategy for strengthening the visual arts in England published in 2006.
