Creative Homes Volunteer Workshop Assistant – training date 4 September 2018

The Creative Homes project offers creative opportunities to older adults living locally to us.  

"We are looking for volunteers to help us run this programme - made of weekly theatre-making workshops in 6 sheltered housing units in Southwark where residents are encouraged to share stories and anecdotes, to move, laugh, play and connect.


We are looking for volunteers to support the programme by

·         Assisting our workshop leaders at weekly or fortnightly creative sessions

·         Supporting older adults to attend Bubble events

Created Out of Mind Short Film Festival – 23 September 2018

Dementia and the Arts Online Course – starts 10 September 2018

This free, four-week MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) has been developed by Created Out of Mind and University College London (UCL). It explores the potential for the arts to create common ground to improve the quality of life and care for those living with different dementias.

Musical conversations in dementia care – 26 September 2018

Musical Interaction is socially inclusive approach to developing rapport and relationship. Grounded in the theory and practice of Intensive Interaction, participatory arts, person centred dementia care and research into rapport. Musical conversations are an enjoyable and effective way to meet the social needs of elders and people living with dementia in residential care settings.

• in one-to-one creative sessions in people’s own homes

Creative exploration of ageing – 21 July 2018

The University of Kent and the Centre for Policy on Ageing invite photographers, poets, musicians, dancers, writers and film makers, of all ages, to explore and re-position thinking about ageing.

The event, A creative exploration of ageing across our lives, is open to artists in any discipline and will help shape creative activity in the future.
