Dementia and the arts: sharing practice, developing understanding and enhancing lives – 20 April 2020

Explore, challenge and shape your perceptions of dementias through science and the creative arts. In this online course you will discover how the arts can create common ground between people, and in doing so, learn what we can all do to improve the quality of life and care for people living with different dementias.

Bibliotherapy - Bringing Books to Life – 13 May 2020

This one-day training course from Dementia Pathfinders aims to promote the principles of best practice in providing bibliotherapy sessions, which allow us to share thoughts and feelings, through the connection of stories and poetry, that will enable us to bring books to life. The training is for anyone who works with people living with dementia, family members or carers, to enable a different approach to keeping mental health healthy by sharing personal stories through characters in literature and poetry.

Booklist launched to support children’s mental health and wellbeing

UK charity The Reading Agency and Libraries Connected have launched a new children’s mental health scheme as part of their Reading Well programme. The Reading Well for children booklist has been created in response to concerning data about children’s mental health in the UK.
