Arts Health Australia deadline for abstracts

The deadline for the submission of abstracts to the seventh annual international conference of Arts and Health Australia is the end of July.

The Art of Good Health and Wellbeing will take place in Sydney this November. Its focus will be on Arts and Health in Primary and Acute Care; Creative Ageing and Aged Care; Community Arts and Health; Health Promotion and the Arts; Education and Training for Health and Arts Professionals; Arts and Health Research and Evaluation. Abstracts are invited on any of these themes.

Symposium on Singing and Song – 1 October 2015

The Memorial University of Newfoundland St. John’s in Canada has issued a call for papers and presentations for a Symposium on Singing and Song.

The conference will bring together scholars, performers and pedagogues, representing diverse disciplines, to share international perspectives, research and practices associated with singing and song. Proposal submissions are invited that address multi-faceted contexts of singing and song such as artistic, physiological, cultural, sociological, historical, pedagogical, compositional, psychological, medical…and beyond!

Transforming healthcare by design – deadline 15 February 2015

American Alliance conference – 29 April 2015

The US Arts and Health Alliance has issued a call for papers for its next annual conference which will take place in Florida next April.

The annual conference provides a forum for practitioners in arts and health, including arts directors, healthcare providers, artists, therapists, architects, designers, administrators, educators, and researchers–bringing people together to present and discuss cutting-edge arts and health topics and exciting developments from around the world.

Arts & Health: An International Journal for Research, Policy and Practice, Call for Papers – deadline 15 March 2015

Special issue on Culture, Museums and Wellbeing. Submissions should have a specific focus on some aspect of culture and/or museums and wellbeing. The editors are particularly interested in quantitative studies and well-developed qualitative studies that can contribute to a nuanced theoretical understanding of these areas. Submissions related to cultural policy and wellbeing will also be considered.

Call for abstracts: the arts and strategy: the second international arts symposium, St Christopher's Hospice, London – deadline 1 September 2014

This symposium aims to provide an opportunity for artists, health and social care leaders and other practitioners to debate the true value of the arts in health. The event will focus on key strategic objectives, cost effectiveness and the necessity to develop robust outcome measures, within the context of a range of examples of the efficacy of different arts programmes. The aim of the symposium is to clearly articulate the usefulness of the arts within health and social care settings, with a particular emphasis on end of life and older people.

Call for Papers, Music, Drama, Dance Movement and Art Therapy: Interdisciplinary Dialogues – deadline 15 February 2015

Approaches: Music Therapy & Special Music Education, a peer-reviewed, open access journal, invites submissions for a special issue dedicated to the arts therapies (music therapy, dramatherapy, dance movement psychotherapy and art therapy) to appear in winter 2015. This call for papers is open to both practitioners and academics. A wide range of submissions are welcome, including: theoretical articles, research or evaluation papers, project reports, case studies or interviews.
