HPCI Media has announced the winners of its ‘Building Better Healthcare’ Awards. The Award for Best Collaborative Arts Project went to Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board (in Wales) and ArtinSite. CoolTan Arts innovation award

London arts in mental health organisation CoolTan Arts has won an ‘Innovation Award’ for its Mental Health Wellbeing Advisers Project. Created by the South London Membership Council, the Innovation, Diffusion and Excellence in Healthcare Education and Training awards were created to celebrate innovation and educational excellence. The winning CoolTan Arts project, which has been awarded £50,000, aims to develop Mental Wellbeing Advisers that will enable people to actively participate in their own recovery.

Arts and Health South West Awards

Arts and Health South West has announced the winners of its annual awards. The Health Award was jointly awarded to Arts for Health Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and to Healing Arts on the Isle of Wight. The Arts Award winner was Creativity Works in Bath. Individual awards were also presented to Jane Willis Director of arts consultancy Willis Newson and Rebecca Seymour a dance artist from Wiltshire.

Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards

As part of the Breakthrough National Positive Practice Awards, which have been re-launched this year, there will be an award for Art, Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Creative Arts and the Criminal Justice System in Secure Settings and the Community

Central & Cecil wins Growing Localities Award

The ‘Growing Together gardening group’ was the winner in the ‘Nature-themed arts and crafts’ category of the awards, which offer funding for London-based projects that improve local communities and, in particular, the lives of vulnerable people.

The gardening project was run at Cecil Court care home in Kew. During the project, a group of residents worked together on a number of different gardening activities, including making Christmas wreaths and decorations, flower arranging, garden related story telling and poems, and making homes for insects and birds.

Patient Experience National Network Awards 2012

Lime Arts has won the Patient Environment category of the Patient Experience National Network Awards for the Hydrotherapy Arts Project at the Dietetics and Therapy Centre of the new Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

West Midlands Arts and Health Awards winners announced

The West Midlands Arts, Health & Wellbeing Arts and Health Awards aims to celebrate and profile exceptional arts and health projects across the region.

The winners have now been announced as follows:

Third Sector Award: Friction Arts with Sandwell Young Peoples Services for their project To You From Super ME
Public Sector Award: Wolverhampton Arts, Culture and Heritage Service for Meet Me at WAG
Judges Prize: Women and Theatre for Drama at Lyndon Resource Centre

Arts & Business Awards - deadline 8 March 2013

Nominations are now open for the 34th Arts & Business Awards in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover. The Awards aim to celebrate excellence in the field of arts and business partnerships and sponsorships across seven categories:

2013 Koestler Awards now open – deadline 19 April

The Koestler Trust has been running its awards programme for offenders, secure patients and detainees for 50 years.

This year the Trust has announced two new judges, new categories, this year’s themed category and a prize for early entries; the establishment with the most entries submitted by 28 February 2013 will receive £300 for arts resources.
