Lottery funded arts projects up for the public vote – deadline 20 June
Ten UK-based organisations are competing for public votes in the Best Arts Project category of The National Lottery Awards 2011. The Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects and recognise the difference that these organisations – both big and small – make to local communities.
The ten semi-finalists have been shortlisted, by an expert panel, for the big difference they’ve made with Lottery money. The public can now vote to get their favourite project through to the final for a chance to win £2,000 to spend on their project and to appear at a star-studded event, televised on BBC1, later in the year.
The semi-finalists in the Best Arts Project category are:
• Big Dance, London
• Boatyard Music and Film Studio, Wales
• Inclusion Through Practice, Harlow
• mac birmingham
• Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre, Leeds
• Pangaa, Glasgow
• The Briggait, Glasgow
• The Smiling Sessions, London
• Tate Movie Project, Nationwide
• Ulster Youth Choir, Northern Ireland
The three projects in each category with the highest number of votes will go through to the final round of public voting later this summer. For more information, or to vote online, visit: www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.
