A Year of Drawing, Sussex and Hampshire – October 2017-January 2018

A Year of Drawing, organised by Make Your Mark, aims to increase access to the arts for people facing mental health challenges and their carers through participatory drawing events across Sussex and Hampshire.

Public drawing events are taking place as part of The Big Draw 2017, and include

International Conference of Arts and Health, Amsterdam – 7-9 May 2018

The Art Education Committee/Chinese Adult Education Association and Creative Arts in Education and Therapy journal are holding their first International Conference of Arts and Health (ICAH), bringing together experts and leaders from both China and Europe for a dialogue over the arts and health in modern society from different perspectives: Eastern and Western, Art and Science.

‘Balancing Acts’, Vault Festival, Waterloo – 25-29 January 2017

Balancing Acts is a multi-media performance telling the stories of 6 men and women's experience of depression and the ways they find to cope.

“Based on candid interviews, we use film and verbatim performance to re-create their worlds, from a 61-year-old agoraphobic man to a 27-year-old deep sea diver.

Call for papers: Creative Bridges – deadline 16 January 2017

Creative Bridges: Work & Research with Words for Wellbeing is a one-day interdisciplinary conference in Bristol at the end of July 2017 hosted by the Metanoia Institute and Lapidus.

Everyday Creativity - January Challenge

LAHF is supporting the campaign organised by arts organisation 64 million artists to get people trying out creative activities every day in January. LAHF staff and trustees are signing up and we hope that as many people working in arts and health will join the challenge.

The Art of Wellness: Visual Arts and Health - from 24 October 2016

Australia’s University of Tasmania is developing a series of short online courses exploring 8 areas of arts and health practice.

The first course is free and starts on 24 October 2016. Each additional course will be offered at an introductory price of AU$20. Should a student decide to complete all 8 courses they will receive a personalised certificate of completion.
