From 12 – 20 May, Voluntary Arts Week will celebrate the wide range of amateur arts and craft activity taking place across the UK and Republic of Ireland - and encourage more people to join in.

Healthy Mums, Nutrition and Fitness Programme for Parents, Scarabeus Theatre – 14 May to 11 July

An exercise and nutrition programme aiming to teach parents how to cook and eat well on a budget and how to enjoy exercise, have fun and relax. Creche provided.

Epidemic - A new musical from Old Vic New Voices – 20-27 May

A new musical by Suzy Davies and Morgan Lloyd Malcolm for a 100-strong company of actors, vocalists and dancers selected through open auditions.

Paintings in Hospitals Fundraising Auction – 28 May

Paintings in Hospitals has announced that its annual fundraising art auction will take place at Bonhams, Knightsbridge on Monday 28 May 2012, 6.30 - 8.00pm.

Among the artists who have lent their support this year are Ian Davenport, Maggi Hambling, Alexis Harding, Jonathan Huxley, Jarik Jongman, HaYoung Kim, Ben Rivers, Simon Roberts, Tim Shaw, Jonathan Trayte and Mary Webb.

ArtvsRehab Focus Groups – deadline 23 May

ArtvsRehab is a series of focus groups on key themes affecting the relationship between art and rehabilitation which aims to stimulate knowledge exchange between artists, practitioners, therapists, academics, service users, service providers, funders and commissioners.

Treasuring Tooting – 12 May

A dawn to dusk walk through Tooting celebrating the many places and things that contribute to happiness. Following on from the Tooting Earth Talk Walk in 2009, the walk will visit favourite 12 different places across Tooting at each of which an aspect of our happiness and wellbeing will be experienced and celebrated.

CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle: May Day Walk – 19 May

A free guided cultural walk around Southwark, promoting mental health and physical wellbeing, using art, humour and history and de-stigmatising mental distress. This walk will explore the history of May Day traditions and stories in the area and celebrates the return of spring.

Taking part is free for everyone, but voluntary donations will be much appreciated.

South London Women Artists, Snap!, Bankside Gallery - 2 to 7 May

A second exhibition of members' work together with archived Women Artists’ Diaries lent by The Women’s Art Library collection at Goldsmiths University of London.

The exhibition catalogue is a SLWA diary for the academic year 2012/13 (£10) and this will join the collection in The Women’s Art Library after the show.

Rainbow Trust One Day Conference - Families First – 17 May

A one day conference for practitioners working with and/or interested in families and palliative care issues. Topics covered will offer opportunities to think about current practice and solutions to best support families who have a child with a life threatening or life shortening condition.
