Arts in Dentistry, Exploring arts-based approaches to dental health and wellbeing – 22 January 2018

4.30-7.30pm at the Dental Institute, Guy’s Hospital, Tower Bridge

An opportunity for artists to take part in a workshop brainstorming arts-based solutions to dental health challenges, with seed funding available for the best collaborative proposals that emerge.

A Cultural Tonic: Using the Arts to Promote Health – 14 March 2018

This evening seminar event will bring together perspectives from research, policy and practice to explore how engaging with, and experiencing, the arts can lead to better health, and how arts-based interventions can improve health related behaviours and outcomes.

Love and Loss – 27 and 28 January 2018

Designed for people working in bereavement services or with patients and families experiencing loss, this weekend workshop will look at how you can use techniques from physical theatre and the performing arts to protect emotional health when grieving. 

Love & Loss is an opportunity for participants to experience how stories told through physical movement can enable us to share our experiences without having to rely on words, providing comfort, solace, insight and understanding.

Writing, Coffee and Conversation – 12 & 27 January 2018

Two group sessions of poetry therapy involving self-reflective writing activities and conversation.

The emphasis of this group is on self-discovery and self-improvement. The group is open to anyone. No prior knowledge of poetry or expressive writing is required, just a willingness to connect, reflect and experiment with words in a supportive environment. Sessions are led by Charmaine Pollard, an experienced Certified Poetry Therapist, with a passion for leading writing and poetry therapy groups with a particular focus on self-awareness, confidence and resilience.

Early Stage Dementia Awareness Training – 7 December 2017

A day designed to offer arts facilitators greater understanding, increased skills and confidence in communicating and working creatively with people experiencing the early stages of dementia and their carers.

This early-stage dementia awareness session will be delivered for Arts 4 Dementia (A4D) by a Dementia Pathfinders trainer Aubrey Maasdorp, with arts workshop guidance from Nigel Franklin (CEO, A4D).

Working with CCGs – 4 December 2017

Age Action Alliance and Flourishing Lives are running a free workshop providing practical support for organisations who want to enhance their understanding of Clinical Commissioning Groups and develop closer working relationships with CCGs.

Kalwant Sahota, Self Care Commissioning Manager at My Care, My Way, West London CCG will address the session. It will also feature a presentation from NHS Healthy London Partnership, providing a pan-London perspective. The workshop will take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the Claremont Project, 24 White Lion St, London N1 9PD.
