State of the arts: artists shaping the world, Salford – 14 February 2012

State of the arts, the national conference for the arts and culture sector: Held in Salford, the event will be hosted by Arts Council England in conjunction with the BBC, The Lowry, Salford City Council and Manchester City Council.

This event is aimed at senior level management from arts and cultural organisations, artists and senior figures involved in the arts from agencies, local authorities, higher education and the media.

Southwark Arts Conference, Southwark Arts Forum – 17 November

A free conference offering a local perspective on Arts and Culture in Southwark.

This conference is an opportunity to hear about what is happening in Southwark and to engage with the community’s creative division of arts and culture. There will also be a chance to learn about some new ways to fund creative projects.

London Health 2011 – 15 November

A one day conference for the capital’s healthcare community, supported by London Councils, will bring together more than 70 speakers to discuss the transition taking place in healthcare across the region and how the NHS and its partners in London can meet both the healthcare needs of Londoners and the challenges set out by government.

Arts 4 Dementia Conference – 14 November

Arts 4 Dementia (A4D) is developing arts activities to inspire and re-energise people living with dementia in the community, from diagnosis, and their carers. A wide-ranging programme of pilot projects is planned throughout London in 2012. To help establish guidelines for arts venues, for mental health and care teams, A4D has received Big Lottery Fund Awards for All funding to run a conference at the Royal Festival Hall in November 2011.

Combating older people's loneliness and social isolation, London – 8 November

A Lemos & Crane Bloom conference setting out a person-centred framework and practical guidance and examples for combating the loneliness and social isolation of older people through family, friendship and community engagement as well as providing insight into the impact of improved relationships on the health and wellbeing of older people.

Contributors incude:

 * Fiona Sayle, Sheltered Service Improvement Manager, Sanctuary Housing, one of the largest providers of sheltered housing across the country, on its strategy to address loneliness and isolation

SAH, Arts in Health Conference: Call for Papers – deadline 16 September

The Society for the Arts in Healthcare is now accepting abstracts for presentations at its 23rd annual international conference in May 2012; Arts & Health: A Global View.

Presentations will be accepted in several areas, including: Practice, Healthcare Environments, Research and Evaluation, and Experiential Workshops.

Call for Papers for Australian Arts and Health Conference

The Third Annual International Arts and Health Conference will take place from 14 – 18 November 2011 at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. The deadline for papers to be presented to the conference is 29th July.
