Arts Awards for Councils

What Next? and the National Campaign for the Arts have joined forces to launch the Hearts for the Arts Awards, a new initiative to reward and thank Councils, Councillors and Council officers who are overcoming financial challenges to ensure the arts stay at the centre of community life.

GSK Impact Awards - deadline 21 September 2016

The GSK IMPACT Awards recognise and reward charities that are working to improve people’s health.

Winners receive a range of benefits, including up to £40,000 in unrestricted funding and free places on a development programme hosted by The King's Fund.

2017 GSK IMPACT Awards – deadline 21 September 2016

The 2017 GSK IMPACT Awards are administered by the King's Fund, and provide funding and free leadership training to small to medium-sized health and wellbeing charities.

Creative Future’s Tight Modern Competition - deadline 15 October

This year's Tight Modern competition will launch on July 15th and run until 30th October. There will be free workshops in Portsmouth, Redbridge and Brighton leading up to the tour for those who would like to make a piece of work to submit to the open competition.

RSPH Arts and Health Award - deadline 31 May 2016

This year’s Royal Society for Public Health’s Arts and Health Award is focusing on work in hospitals and hospices.

The Award now sits alongside other awards from the RSPH which aim to recognise and celebrate a wide range of activities, policies and strategies that empower communities and individuals, improve the population’s health and address the wider social determinants of health.

There are six categories representing the breadth and reach of public health projects and programmes:

European Healthcare Design Awards 2016 - deadline 28 April 2016

Architects for Health and SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange are organising these awards which include a category for Interior Design and Arts.

The Awards will be announced at the 2nd European Healthcare Design 2016 Congress, held at the Royal College of Physicians, in London, on 27-28 June. 

Lead Artist, Mental Health Project, Hull & East Yorkshire Mind – deadline 9 April 2016

Hull and East Yorkshire Mind wishes to appoint a Lead Artist to develop a programme of artistic responses to severe mental health issues.

A book of poetry by Trevor Hughes describes his son Peter’s tragic story as he develops a severe mental illness and eventually takes his own life by jumping off the Humber Bridge. Mind are looking for creative ideas for how to turn this initial idea into reality. Paintwork, projection, spoken words, music, photography, fine book illustration, events, readings across the city might all form part of this.

RSPH Awards for health & wellbeing – submissions deadline 31 May 2016

The ninth 2016 RSPH Health & Wellbeing Awards – including a dedicated Arts & Health Award – are now open for entry. The awards recognise and celebrate a wide range of activities, policies and strategies that empower communities and individuals, improve the population’s health and address the wider social determinants of health.

There are six categories representing the breadth and reach of public health projects and programmes:

European Healthcare Design Awards – submissions deadline 28 April 2016

The inaugural European Healthcare Design Awards 2016 comprise ten categories across primary, secondary and tertiary levels of international healthcare provision and delivery. They will be evaluated by some of the world's leading researchers and practitioners in healthcare design.

Celebrating the cream of healthcare design projects worldwide, the awards will help set a benchmark from which to advance standards in the creation of healthcare environments that support new systems of care delivery and the implementation of design innovations.

Funded PhD studentships at University of Winchester - deadline: 13 March

To mark the University's 175th anniversary, this year applications are being sought for 10 fully-funded doctoral research studentships - presenting an opportunity for students interested in focusing on arts and health through the university's Centre for the Arts as Wellbeing.
