RSPH photographic art award – deadline 6 August 2017

The RSPH "flash points" competition is seeking submissions that highlight health and wellbeing in the UK across the life course. Submissions should be "thought-provoking snapshots of lives from as diverse a range of demographics as this country is home to".

Submissions are invited in the following six categories:

Call for nominations, Allianz Business to Arts Awards – deadline 8 May 2017

The Allianz Business to Arts Awards champion collaboration between businesses, artists and arts organisations. They recognise creative partnerships that bring the arts and artists into mutually beneficial relationships across society. 

Proposals for Artangel Everywhere – deadline 30 April 2017

Artangel Everywhere explores a broader understanding of place. Creative proposals are invited for projects that embrace the idea of a connected community and can be experienced by people around the world.

The selected proposal will undergo an extensive R&D stage before moving into production. Artangel will build a team that could include technologists, engineers, and designers to support the idea, making connections between complementary fields of expertise as a key aspect of the production process.

Arts business support from Creative United – open for applications from 27 March 2017

The "Prosper" programme will offer 70 arts and cultural organisations, companies or individual entrepreneurs in England nine months of free business support activities, including masterclasses and webinars. The ACE-funded programme opens for applications on 27 March, and is designed to improve confidence and capacity to build resilience in the sector as a whole.

Master's Awards in Humanities and Social Science – open deadline

A new Wellcome Trust funding scheme for researchers wishing to undertake humanities or social science Master's courses in any area of health.

Submit to the Creative Future literary awards – deadline 26 June 2017

Creative Future is looking for poetry and flash fiction on the theme of “Important Nothings” for the chance to win one of twelve prizes totalling over £10,000.

Open to: Poetry (200 words) and flash fiction (300 words) on the theme of ‘Important Nothings’ – a Jane Austen quote to celebrate her 200th anniversary this year.

Entry fee: Free

RSPH Arts and Health award - deadline 28 April 2017

The Arts and Health award is one of the six categories of the Royal Society for Public Health's annual Health and Wellbeing Awards. The Awards recognise a wide range of activities, policies and strategies that empower communities and individuals, improve the population’s health and address the wider social determinants of health.

Entered projects and programmes should demonstrate:

  • High quality creative arts and music provision that addresses significant health and wellbeing issues affecting individuals, families and the wider community

Call for over-60s performers for Sadler’s Wells’ Elixir Festival – deadline 28 February 2017

Sadler’s Wells is inviting applications from over-60s groups across the country to perform in Elixir Extracts, part of Elixir Festival 2017. 

It is looking for a diverse range of dance works of approximately 5-8 minutes in length, to be performed in the Lilian Baylis Studio on 24 & 25 June.

Celebrating lifelong creativity and the contribution of older artists, the Elixir Festival was set up in 2014 to challenge assumptions about what older people can do, throw a spotlight on the diversity of dance practice and raise questions about what is next for the sector.

Koestler Awards for offenders, secure patients and detainees – deadline 14 April 2017

The Koestler Awards 2017 is now open for entries. This year’s exhibition theme is 'Inside', set by the curator Sir Antony Gormley. Entries can be from individuals or groups. Anyone who is currently in a UK prison, an immigration removal centre, secure hospital, children's home or on probation may enter the awards.

The Koestler Trust aims to demonstrate that the arts are beneficial to offenders, secure patients and detainees.

Invitation to tender: Cost-effectiveness of loneliness interventions - deadline 7 February 2017

The Campaign to End Loneliness is commissioning a new research project looking at the cost-effectiveness of loneliness interventions.
