Taking Note: Poetry in Moments – 1 December 2017

This special evening will see four poets including Jo Shapcott share poems devised with and for the community of Cambridge University Hospitals.

The event will explore the ways that poetry can touch the lives of people in hospital and ask what might poets and poetry prompt people to notice and share? Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination and Addenbrooke's Arts will be presenting the first public performances of new poems written by four extraordinary poets at an event at Michaelhouse Centre, Trinity Street, Cambridge. 6 - 7.30pm

"Under Glass": Salford, Brighton, London, Cardiff – 18 October-25 November 2017

This new Clod Ensemble series of conversations, lectures and workshops will explore specimens and the clinical gaze, and features artists, healthcare experts and thinkers. Highlights include a lecture from globally renowned philosopher and author Havi Carel exploring the experience of illness and receiving healthcare; a behind the scenes tour and workshop inspired Wellcome Collection and Science museum stores; a performance from multi-award winning New York based artist, performer and writer Peggy Shaw; and life drawing workshops in collaboration with dancers and physiotherapists.

XX exhibition and events, Bethlem Gallery – 1 July-26 August 2017

"XX" will include work by over 30 artists spanning the two decades of the gallery's existence. There will be an accompanying programme of events including performance, art workshops and live music.

Opening event: 1 July 3-5pm

"Join us on the opening event with Ismail Ali, Project ALCHEMY, who will be activating our limited edition anniversary mugs with his combined laboratory and theatre - 'Is it Art or is it Science? Who cares when it tastes this good!'"

Make Music Day, international event – 21 June 2017

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world. Launched in 1982 in France as "Fête de la Musique", it is now held on the same day in more than 750 cities in 120 countries. Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part.

Live Music Now uses LIBOR to support veterans

Thanks to a grant from the UK Treasury, and during its 40th anniversary year, LMN will be using LIBOR funds to provide interactive concerts to veterans of the armed services at care homes in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and English regions.

LMN is also launching a new collaboration with the Pureland Foundation, which will include musical projects for adults with mental health issues and refugees, in the years to come.

Noctunes Wonder musical walk, Camberwell – 13 June 2017

Composer Isa Suarez and Cooltan Arts will be launching a suite of downloadable musical movements about how music affects our mind, heartbeat and wellbeing, on a summer evening’s musical walk during Camberwell Arts Festival.

The walk, on Tuesday 13 June at 9pm, will be run by CoolTan Arts volunteers, and will feature tales of lunacy, madness and art around the local Camberwell streets.

First "Relaxed Prom", London – 29 July 2017

The "relaxed prom" at the Royal Albert Hall will be a concert suitable for children and adults with autism, sensory and communication impairments and learning disabilities, as well as individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind and partially sighted.

Presented by conductor Grant Llewellyn and musician Andy Pidcock, the first ever Relaxed Prom is a fun and interactive musical experience in a welcoming environment, with plenty of opportunities for participation.
