Paintings in Hospitals invite you to enjoy and experience new products at their first ever pop up shop at the Menier Gallery from 18:00 on Thursday 03 September. The products – ranging from notebooks and colouring books to cards and pillow cases – will be available online from 3 September.

Nature Morte: Contemplating the Collection

Discover your creative side this Summer at the Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret

Throughout July and August, staff at the Old Operating Theatre will be convening a series of still life drawing workshops for all ages
themed around medicine and art. These sessions will provide an interesting and enjoyable way of exploring the museum's collection
and contemplating some of these artefacts' historical use. These workshops will run on the following dates and times:

Outside In – artists’ surgery days – 27 August-17 September

Outside In is holding a series of Surgery Days around the UK to help artists to create online galleries if they don’t have the skills or facilities to do it themselves. They can of course come with support workers/carers or family members or come alone. Each session is one hour long and is a one-to-one session. You have to book a place to attend as places are limited.

Dementia, culture and ethnicity – 20 May 2015

The Margaret Butterworth Care Home Forum is hosting the launch of a new book Dementia, Culture and Ethnicity, as part of its quarterly programme of events exploring issues in dementia care.

Reminiscence Arts in Dementia Care – 23 April 2015

The European Reminiscence Network is running a training course and apprenticeship scheme for those with an interest in utilising reminiscence as part of positive approaches to dementia care.

The 2-day Training course in reminiscence arts in dementia care will be held at the University of Greenwich Drama Building, Bathway, Woolwich, London SE18 6QX from 10am - 4.30pm on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th April 2015

This experiential course will be led by highly experienced reminiscence arts practitioners and trainers, with input from volunteers and former carers.

Core Arts Sport – 10 May 2015

Hackney’s Core Arts is launching a new Core Sports Unit to provide opportunities for adults who experience mental health issues to participate in inclusive supportive sporting activities. To mark the launch, the organisation is offering places in the Hackney Half Marathon.

CoolTan Arts at Affordable Art Fair – 11 March 2015

Mental health arts organisation CoolTan is the nominated charity for this year’s Affordable Art Fair.

Proceeds from ticket sales for the Charity Private View event will go directly to support CoolTan Arts’ work with people with mental distress. The Charity Preview will be officially opened by the artist and patron of CoolTan Arts, Maggi Hambling.

HEAR (the London network of equalities organisations) is hosting an event to examine the inequalities in health experienced by Londoners. It is seeking case studies from cultural organisations which can be used to demonstrate the impact of the arts on lessening health inequalities.
