Knitting for Wellbeing, Wellcome Collection – 6 September 2016

When: Tuesday 6th September at 2pm.

The link between knitting and memory will be explored by using books from the Reading Rooms; participants will also try ‘therapeutic knitting’ with a view to making their own ‘memory purse’ to take away.

The Hearing Voices Café, London – 16-27 August 2016

Wellcome Collection is hosting artist Dora García’s project ‘The Hearing Voices Café’, a meeting place for voice-hearers, their friends and other guests.  

Join the café for drop-in discussions and events, produced in collaboration with people who hear voices, to share, explore and learn about this diverse experience. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Creative Future Literary Awards Showcase, Southbank Centre – 8 September 2016

The 2016 Creative Future Literary Awards Showcase will take place on Thursday 8 September at London’s Southbank Centre as part of Unlimited Festival.

It showcases a diverse range of talented writers from around the UK - each of the 12 finalists will read their award-winning contributions, alongside readings from guest author Michelle Green and best-selling poet and playwright Lemn Sissay, who will host the event.

Reimagining Health: TEDxNHS, London – 26 August 2016

A free event themed around ‘disruption’, ‘mending the mind and body’, and ‘blurring boundaries’.

This event is independently organised under license from TED, and features speakers and performers from the intersection of health and disciplines such as art, design, technology, the environment, business and policy – as well as patients. The event’s aim is ‘to foster and spread great ideas, whilst inspiring new connections and actions in the NHS community’.

Creative Industries Federation Brexit impact meetings, nationwide – July-September 2016

After the first Brexit impact meeting in London, the series continues around the country to uncover what members need to know, what is already happening, and what the negotiating priorities are as we leave the EU.

Green Candle Dance Company’s Sagacity! – 29 & 30 July 2016

A festival for older dancers in London, featuring performers from across capital.

Day one of this year's Sagacity! on Friday 29 July will include ‘Dance on Film’ workshops themed around dance films including West Side Story and Bollywood classic Devdas. Lunch will be provided, and a chance to watch a film screening of West Side Story in the afternoon.

DanceMoves - 17 May 2016

Cambridge Arts Picturehouse is hosting a morning exploring the diverse arts activities supporting people in Cambridgeshire living with dementia.

The event will include the screening of two films made around integrated and inclusive dementia and dance groups and is part of Cambridge celebrating Dementia Awareness Week from the 15th-21st of May.

Cooltan Arts at the Affordable Art Fair, charity private view - 9 March
