Call for artists for King’s Make Do Play campaign – deadline 10 December 2019

Make Do Play is a campaign, delivered by King’s College London’s Culture team, to encourage students to take part in creative activities for their wellbeing. Building on student feedback from earlier 1-week and 1-month campaigns held in the last two years, for 2019-20 this will be a year-long programme of activity centred around a weekly ‘Make Do Play Day’ which will be held every Thursday during term time, rotating around spaces on King’s four campuses. Each Make Do Play day will involve two key activities:

  • low-time-investment creative drop-ins in café spaces, to enable students to play with materials, take a creative break and engage in meaningful conversations with peer mentors. These will be facilitated by culture team staff and student assistants.
  • 1.5 hour ‘bookable’ high quality creative workshop sessions with a professional artist or creative to enable them to learn a new skill, rediscover an old hobby or find a new one. King’s are therefore looking for artists who can deliver this 1.5 hour creative activity which could support student wellbeing.
