Arts in Health Research Cluster: Launch and Talks, Limerick – 30 March 2017

The launch of a newly established Arts in Health Research Cluster will take place on 30 March 2017 at The Health Hub, Rutland Street in Limerick City. Formed by academics, clinicians, patients and artists from the University of Limerick, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick Institute of Technology and the Limerick School of Art and Design, the group is the brainchild of Dr. Hilary Moss of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at UL. Free talks from group members on a variety of topics will take place throughout the day including the use of visual art to explore the experience of being a person with cancer, the use of puppetry in disability, and the benefits of set dancing for people with Parkinson’s disease.

The launch will be introduced by the founder of the Art in Health research cluster, Dr. Hilary Moss. Metropolitan Mayor Michael Hourigan will give a brief keynote speech followed by a musical meditation led by Dr. Moss.
